 This stunning studio apartment in Marais belongs to a friend of mine. Look at the colour combinations and the beautiful details! It's simply wonderful. Together with the soft light coming through the windows they create quite a meditative mood which suits the owner perfectly.

Fresh Start!

I haven't posted anything for a while due to massive workload and unwelcome pneumonia, but now I'm back! I just love the feeling of a fresh start that comes with a new year. The picture shows japanese candy symbolizing a happy, prosperous new year 2011. (It was given to me by a japanese TV team that filmed my kitchen a month ago.)
Anyway, I just came home from Paris and Maison & Objet with loads of inspiration and beautiful photos so make sure to stop by as I have quite a lot I want to show you, starting with my Parisian friend's studio apartment...

I recently visited Ulriksdals Slottsträdgård (The Royal Garden of Ulriksdal) and it was truly inspiring - just look at the flowers!  I love the way they mix pink blossoms and raw metal.

I know I'm biased but I simply love the way he combines colours.
You can't see it here but his nearly black gloves matches his boots.

Smoked salmon with avocado, figs and apple vinaigrette

 

1 serving

smoked salmon
1 handful fresh, crisp baby spinach
2 tbsp roasted walnuts
1/2 avocado
1 ripe blue fig 

APPLE VINAIGRETTE
1 clove chopped garlic
1/4 small red apple, finely chopped
1/2 tbsp vinegar of good quality, preferably sherry vinegar
1 1/2 tbsp olive oil
salt and pepper
sprinkle some french green beans on top (my favourite!)

Extended living room.

Create a personal, cozy zone on your balcony or terrace using similar textiles and accessories to the ones you have indoors. Add flowers and plants within the same color scheme as the interior, this will create a feeling of an extended living room.
